Birthday Surprise Turns Into Horror for Mumbai Youth

A young man in Mumbai narrowly escaped death after what he thought would be a simple birthday celebration turned into a terrifying murder attempt by his own friends.

Abul Rehman Maksood Alam Khan, 21, was looking forward to celebrating his birthday. On the night of November 24, his friend Ayaz Malik called him, inviting him for a cake-cutting ceremony. Excited and unsuspecting, Abul agreed.

Around midnight, another friend, Sharif, asked him to come to Wing 26 of the Kohinoor Phase 3 society. Believing his friends had arranged a surprise, Abul went downstairs, where five of his friends — Ayaz Malik, Ashraf Malik, Qasim Chaudhary, Huzaifa Khan, and Sharif Sheikh — were waiting with a cake.

But the moment Abul picked up the knife to cut the cake, the atmosphere changed. Instead of cheering, the group suddenly began pelting him with stones. Shocked and confused, Abul tried to understand what was happening.

Things escalated quickly. Ayaz appeared with a bottle of petrol and, along with Ashraf, started pouring it over Abul. Terrified, Abul screamed, asking, “What are you doing?” but his other friends allegedly held him and encouraged Ayaz to continue. Moments later, Ayaz flicked a lighter — and Abul was set ablaze.

In a desperate attempt to save himself, Abul ran frantically towards a nearby building. A security guard handed him a bottle of water, but it wasn’t enough to put out the flames. He finally located a tap and doused himself until the fire died down.

Huzaifa, one of the accused, later took Abul to the hospital, where he is being treated for severe burn injuries on his face, ears, chest, and arms. Abul is a second-year Bachelor of Accounting and Finance student at Guru Nanak Khalsa College.

Police have registered a case, and all five friends have been booked for attempted murder.

🔥 Delhi Woman Arrested for Murdering Mother-in-Law and Setting House on Fire

A 32-year-old pregnant woman named Aafreen has been arrested in Wazirabad, North Delhi, for allegedly killing her mother-in-law and trying to destroy evidence by setting their home on fire.

Police said the victim, 58-year-old Nasrin Ishatakh, suffered four hammer blows to the head before the fire was started using kerosene. The burned body was discovered after the fire was extinguished.

Initially, Aafreen claimed that unidentified men attacked and robbed her, but police found inconsistencies in her statements. A bloodstained hammer and traces of kerosene were recovered from the crime scene.

Investigators believe the murder was planned and linked to a family property dispute. At the time of the incident, only Aafreen and Nasrin were present in the house, while other family members were at work.

Aafreen, who is reportedly 4–5 months pregnant, has now been placed in police custody as the investigation continues.

Woman Injured in Public Attack Near Buddha Park; Jealousy Suspected

Bhubaneswar: A shocking incident unfolded near Buddha Park on Sunday morning when a woman was attacked in public, reportedly by a man who suspected she was involved in another relationship.

According to police, the accused, identified as 38-year-old Tinku Gurung from Darjeeling, allegedly used the sharp blade of a nail-cutter to slit the throat of the woman. Locals rushed to help as the woman began bleeding and immediately alerted authorities.

The victim, a 44-year-old woman originally from Darjeeling, has been living in Bhubaneswar for the past seven years and runs a momo stall in the area. She was quickly taken to a private hospital and later discharged after treatment.

Police investigations revealed that the woman and the accused had initially connected over social media and had been meeting frequently. While the woman is divorced, the accused reportedly has a family back in Darjeeling. Police believe jealousy over a suspected new relationship triggered the attack.

The accused had arrived in Bhubaneswar three months ago and was working at a hotel. Officers recovered the nail-cutter used in the assault from the crime scene.

DCP Jagmohan Meena confirmed that a case has been registered, and Gurung was produced in court, where he was remanded to judicial custody.

Nagarjuna Reveals Family Member Was Victim of “Digital Arrest” for Two Days — Rising Cybercrime Explained

Nagarjuna Reveals His Family Member Was Digitally Arrested for Two Days — Here’s What Happened

Digital crime is evolving fast, and one of the most alarming forms is “digital arrest” — a cyber-fraud technique where scammers pose as law enforcement and force victims into isolation while extorting money.

Recently, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni revealed that someone from his own family fell victim to this scam.

What Is a Digital Arrest?

A digital arrest occurs when cybercriminals:

Impersonate police officers, CBI, ED, courier companies, or government authorities

Claim the victim is involved in a crime

Force them to stay on a video/phone call for hours or days

Threaten legal action if they disconnect

Attempt to extort money during this period

This method is becoming increasingly common across India as people panic when they hear the words “case”, “FIR”, or “warrant”.

What Nagarjuna Revealed

During a press conference with Telangana City Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar, Nagarjuna shared a shocking personal experience.

“About six months ago, one of my family members was digitally arrested for two days. These fraudulent organisations track us and try to find our weaknesses,”

Nagarjuna

He said the scammers fled immediately after police stepped in.

A senior police official later confirmed that no formal complaint was filed but agreed that the criminals must have realised police involvement and disappeared.

Why the Press Conference Happened

The statement came during a briefing regarding the arrest of Emmadi Ravi, a man who operated several piracy websites streaming illegal films.

Nagarjuna praised the Telangana Police for cracking down on piracy and cybercrime, adding that such action benefits filmmakers across all languages — not just Telugu cinema.

Why Digital Arrest Cases Are Increasing

Cybersecurity experts say digital arrests are rising because:

Scammers use leaked databases and social media information

People are unaware of legal procedures

Fear of police or court cases makes victims panic

Fraudsters use convincing fake IDs, documents, and caller IDs

How to Protect Yourself from Digital Arrest Scams

Here are essential safety tips:

1. No police or government department arrests people over a phone call.

A real officer will never ask for money or threaten arrest on WhatsApp or video calls.

2. Never stay on long video/phone calls with unknown numbers.

Disconnect immediately.

3. Do not share personal documents like Aadhaar, PAN, or bank details.

4. Verify calls directly with your local police station.

5. Educate family members, especially elders and students.

Final Thoughts

Nagarjuna’s revelation shows that even celebrities and influential families are not safe from modern cybercrime techniques.

The court declared her guilty and announced the verdict against her.

Following the tribunal’s decision, security measures have been significantly strengthened across Bangladesh to prevent any unrest or retaliatory incidents.

Hasina Rejects the Verdict

Reacting from India—where she has reportedly taken refuge—Sheikh Hasina strongly condemned the verdict.

She described the judgment as:

> “Biased and politically motivated.”

She has consistently denied all charges against her.Among the accused, only former Police Chief Abdullah Al-Mamun appeared in court when the sentencing was announced.

CSK Retained & Released Players for IPL 2026: Full Breakdown as Dhoni, Ruturaj Lead the Squad

The Chennai Super Kings have officially announced their retained and released players list for IPL 2026, marking one of the most significant transition phases in the franchise’s history. The highlight of the announcement is CSK’s record-breaking trade, securing Rajasthan Royals star Sanju Samson for ₹18 crore — the biggest trade deal ever for the franchise.

CSK Management on the Changes

CSK Managing Director KS Viswanathan addressed the major shifts within the squad, especially the tough calls regarding Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.

He stated:

“A transition in a team’s journey is never easy. Trading out a player like Ravindra Jadeja, who has been an integral part of the franchise for more than a decade, and Sam Curran was one of the toughest decisions we have taken in the team’s history.

The decision was taken with mutual understanding with both Jadeja and Curran. We are deeply grateful for Jadeja's extraordinary contributions and the legacy he leaves behind. We wish both Jadeja and Curran the best for the future.

We also welcome Sanju Samson, whose skill-set and achievements complement our ambitions. This decision has been made with great thought, respect, and a long-term vision.”

Retentions from the Previous Cycle

In the earlier mega-auction retention phase, CSK had retained:

  • Ruturaj Gaikwad – ₹18 crore

  • Ravindra Jadeja – ₹18 crore

  • Matheesha Pathirana – ₹13 crore

  • Shivam Dube – ₹12 crore

  • MS Dhoni – ₹4 crore (retained using the modified uncapped player retention rule)

Major Releases for IPL 2026

One of the biggest headlines from CSK’s announcement is the release of their legendary all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, marking the end of a historic era. The franchise cited “transition” as the primary reason behind moving on.

Additionally, CSK has confirmed that Sam Curran has been traded to Rajasthan Royals as part of the deal involving Sanju Samson.

The changes indicate CSK’s preparation for a future beyond MS Dhoni, with new leadership and long-term planning at the forefront.

 # **Watch: Rishabh Pant Calls Jadeja “Jadender”, Moments Before Jadeja bowls stubbs**

**Watch: Rishabh Pant Calls Jadeja “Jadender”, Moments Before Jadeja Bowls Stubbs**

Rishabh Pant once again delivered a classic behind-the-stumps moment, adding humour to an otherwise tense passage of play. With South Africa struggling at **60/4** in their second innings, Ravindra Jadeja was applying immense pressure with disciplined, tight bowling.

During the **23rd over**, while Tristan Stubbs was facing Jadeja, Pant entertained everyone with his signature banter. He cheekily referred to the bowler as **“Jadender”**, a line that immediately caught the attention of the commentators and had fans laughing across social media.

Pant’s light-hearted chatter has long been a standout feature of his wicketkeeping, and once again, he didn’t disappoint.

---

## **Jadeja Strikes — Stubbs Bowled for 5**

Soon after the fun moment, Jadeja produced the perfect follow-up. On the final ball of the over, Stubbs misread the delivery, and the ball sneaked past his defence, crashing into the stumps. He departed for **just 5 runs**, handing India a crucial breakthrough.

This dismissal marked **Jadeja’s fourth wicket** of the innings and further tightened India’s grip on the match. The sequence — Pant’s joke followed by Jadeja’s strike — quickly went viral, giving fans both laughter and celebration in the same over.

---

## **India End Day 2 on Top**

Day 2 offered little relief for batters, with sharp turn and unpredictable bounce making run-scoring extremely difficult. Play eventually ended a few minutes early due to bad light.

By stumps, South Africa were reeling at **93/7**, holding a slim lead of **63 runs**. Captain **Temba Bavuma** was battling hard at **29 off 78 balls**, alongside **Corbin Bosch**, who remained on 1.

For India, Jadeja was the standout performer, finishing the day with impressive figures of **4/29 in 13 overs**.
Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel contributed with **2 and 1 wicket**, respectively, while Jasprit Bumrah bowled sharply but went wicketless.

India will look to wrap up the innings quickly on Day 3 and avoid chasing a tricky three-digit target on a challenging surface.

New CCTV Footage Shows Red Fort Blast Suspect Dr. Umar Nabi Walking Calmly With Bag, Two Phone

Investigators probing the Red Fort blast are examining new CCTV footage that reveals the movements of Dr. Umar Nabi, the prime suspect in Monday night’s deadly explosion. The blast, caused by an explosive-laden Hyundai i20, killed 13 people and injured several others near the Red Fort. Umar was identified through DNA samples matched with his mother.

A recently surfaced CCTV clip from a market in Faridabad shows Umar walking unbothered, carrying a bag and holding two mobile phones. In the video, he hands one of the phones to a shopkeeper to check whether it is charging. Investigators are now attempting to trace both devices and their usage patterns.

Forensic reports suggest that the explosion may have been triggered accidentally by Umar or due to a timer malfunction inside the vehicle. His movement data across the NCR indicates that he drove around aimlessly for over 13 hours, displaying increasingly erratic behaviour. He visited a mosque without offering prayers and sat at a tea stall for about 20 minutes without ordering anything. Officials believe he was alone throughout the day and under “immense pressure”.

Sources also revealed deeper links within the terror module. Dr. Muzammil, who reportedly met Molvi Irfan Ahmed two years ago, is believed to have undergone radicalisation during this period. Muzammil was close to Umar, both hailing from the same village in Pulwama and working at the Al Falah School of Medical Sciences in Faridabad. Another accused, Dr. Adeel Rather—arrested in Saharanpur—was associated with Dr. Shaheen, who also worked at the institute and allegedly provided financial support to the group.

Investigators say the accused claimed they were unaware that the Red Fort would be targeted. They allegedly purchased fertilisers from Nuh and Mewat to extract ammonium nitrate and potash for making explosives. These materials were transported using vehicles such as an i20 and a red EcoSport. Security teams have searched the Al Falah campus to determine whether laboratory facilities were used to assemble explosive components. Several members of the terror network are in custody, while others remain absconding.

Meanwhile, security forces demolished Umar’s house in Pulwama during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Once known as an academically promising professional, officials say Umar’s radicalisation deepened over the past two years through extremist messaging groups online.

Red Fort Blast Investigation: Fourth Vehicle Seized, Linked to Dr Shaheen Shahid

Red Fort Blast Investigation: Fourth Vehicle Seized, Linked to Dr Shaheen Shahid

FARIDABAD/NEW DELHI:
Investigators probing Monday’s deadly Red Fort blast have seized a fourth vehicle—a silver Maruti Brezza—deepening the focus on a suspected terror logistics network spanning Delhi-NCR and Jammu & Kashmir.

Fourth Vehicle Traced to Al-Falah Medical College Links

The newly recovered Brezza (HR87 U 9988), registered on September 25 under the name of Dr Shaheen Shahid, was found parked inside the Al-Falah University campus.
This brings the total number of suspect vehicles to four:

  1. White Hyundai i20 (HR26 CE 7674) driven by the suicide bomber Dr Umar Un-Nabi

  2. Red Ford EcoSport abandoned in Faridabad

  3. Maruti Swift Dzire linked to accused Dr Muzammil Ghanaie

  4. Newly seized silver Maruti Brezza

Investigators suspect the vehicles were used to move firearms, ammonium nitrate, and other explosive materials across Faridabad, Delhi, and J&K.

Faridabad Police confirmed that both the Brezza and the EcoSport were recovered over the past 48 hours and handed over to central agencies.

Ownership and Use Under Scrutiny

The Brezza was registered under “Dr Shaheen Saeed”—which investigators say refers to Dr Shaheen Shahid—at the Al-Falah medical campus address.
Officials say she no longer resides in Faridabad, raising questions about who had possession of the car.

More than 30 vehicles on campus are now being checked for authenticity and possible links to the module.

The EcoSport: A Key Link in Explosive Movement

Investigators say Wasid Khan, a compounder at Al-Falah University, drove the red EcoSport from his brother’s garage and left it outside the home of his brother-in-law Mohammad Faheem in Khandawali village, allegedly under Umar’s directions.

Both men are in custody.

Key findings:

  • Traces of ammonium nitrate were found inside the EcoSport.

  • CCTV shows the vehicle passing through Dhauj and the Al-Falah campus on the day it was abandoned.

  • A woman seen accompanying Wasid is being identified.

Faheem claimed he was unaware of the vehicle’s purpose and said Wasid parked it without explanation.

A Wider Terror Logistics Network Emerges

According to Delhi Police’s Special Cell:

  • The cars were allegedly used to ferry weapons, rifles and ammunition from Srinagar and Anantnag to Faridabad over several trips last year.

  • Several vehicles were bought using names of accomplices, including Shaheen Shahid and Amir Rashid.

  • Handler Ukasha, believed to be coordinating from outside India, communicated with the accused via Signal.

  • Umar carried five mobile phones, each offering new data trails on vehicle movements.

Both the EcoSport and the i20 tested positive for ammonium nitrate, indicating multiple vehicles were rotated to avoid detection.

Digital & Forensic Trails Being Mapped

Authorities are analysing:

  • CCTV footage

  • Parking logs

  • Al-Falah University server data

  • Mobile phone and GPS records

Investigators believe the vehicles hold the key to mapping the movement network between Delhi, Haryana, and J&K.

Security has been tightened across Dhauj, Khandawali, and parts of Nuh, with multiple raids planned.

Next Steps

Wasid and Faheem remain under interrogation. Their statements, investigators say, may “fill the missing link” connecting Dr Umar’s Faridabad operations to the Red Fort explosion.

Pune Man’s “Drishyam-Inspired” Murder Plot Exposed

In a chilling Pune case straight out of a thriller, 38-year-old Anjali Jadhav — a school teacher — was allegedly murdered by her husband, Sameer Jadhav, who then tried to destroy all traces of the crime and mislead police.

According to investigators, Sameer took Anjali to a rented warehouse on October 26, pretending to show her a new workspace. There, he strangled her, burned her body in a furnace he had built beforehand, and scattered the ashes in a nearby river. Their two children were away in their village for Diwali at the time.

To cover up the murder, Sameer filed a missing person complaint and repeatedly visited the police station, pretending to be a worried husband. He even used his wife’s phone to send romantic messages to another man — replying to them himself — to make it seem like she was having an affair.

But his overacting backfired. Police grew suspicious of his behavior, checked CCTV footage, and found inconsistencies in his statements. During questioning, he confessed to the crime and admitted that he had planned it after watching Drishyam several times.

The case, initially registered at the Warje Malwadi Police Station, has now been transferred to Rajgad Police for further investigation.

Dhruv Jurel Creates History With Twin Centuries for India A

Dhruv Jurel made history in Bengaluru by becoming only the second Indian player to score centuries in both innings of an ‘A-Test’ match, matching Naman Ojha’s 2014 feat against Australia A.

Continuing his fine form, Jurel scored 127 in the second innings*, following a century in the first, as India A declared at 382/7, setting a 416-run lead over South Africa A. His composed innings, featuring 15 fours and a six, highlighted his growing maturity in red-ball cricket.

Earlier, captain Rishabh Pant caused concern after being hit multiple times by pacer Tshepo Moraki, forcing him to retire hurt on 17. However, he later returned and played a brisk 65 off 54 balls, easing fitness worries ahead of the upcoming Test series against South Africa on November 14.

Jurel’s twin tons were the standout performance of the match, underlining his rising stature in Indian cricket.

Karnataka Tragedy: Man Kills 4-Year-Old Daughter, Dies by Suicide After Wife Elopes

In a heartbreaking incident from Mulbagal taluk, Karnataka, a 37-year-old man allegedly killed his four-year-old daughter before taking his own life after his wife eloped with another man, police reported on Friday.

According to officials, the man, identified as Lokesh, had filed a missing complaint for his wife, Navyashri, on Tuesday. The couple had been married for four years. Before leaving home, Navyashri reportedly left a note saying she no longer wished to live with him, wanted a divorce, and asked him not to look for her.

Following the complaint, Lokesh left home with his daughter, Niharika, in his car. He took her to a bakery, bought her favorite snacks, and later, in a shocking turn of events, allegedly strangled her inside the vehicle before ending his own life.

On Wednesday morning, police found Niharika’s body inside the car, which was parked by the roadside, while Lokesh was discovered hanging from a nearby tree.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the wife was in a relationship with another man, which may have driven Lokesh to the extreme act.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the tragic killing of an Army soldier on a moving train in Rajasthan. The incident reportedly occurred after an argument broke out between the soldier and a coach attendant over a blanket and bedsheet.

According to railway officials, the attendant — a railway staff member — allegedly attacked and killed the soldier during the heated exchange. The NHRC has assured that strict action will be taken against the accused and that justice and compensation will be provided to the soldier’s family.
