In positive news for Indian cricket fans, all-rounder Hardik Pandya is expected to make his domestic return for Baroda in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, ahead of India’s three-match ODI series against South Africa.
Comeback Plan and Fitness Update
According to a report by The Times of India, Pandya is nearing full match fitness at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. If his recovery continues smoothly, he could feature in Baroda’s opening match of the tournament.
Even in a worst-case scenario, the report suggests that Pandya will be available by Baroda’s second game.
No Break Before Domestic Return
The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy begins on November 26, with Baroda scheduled to play their matches in Hyderabad. Once Pandya receives clearance from the Centre of Excellence, he is expected to head straight to Hyderabad without any break to join the Baroda squad.
Road to International Comeback
India’s three-match ODI series against South Africa begins on November 30, followed by games on December 3 (Raipur) and December 6 (Visakhapatnam). Pandya is expected to play at least one domestic game before making his international return.
