A 24-year-old man from Gurugram suffered severe injuries after the bungee cord attached to him snapped mid-jump at the Shivpuri bungee jumping site in Rishikesh on Wednesday.
The victim, Sonu Kumar, had taken the jump around 4:37 pm when the accident occurred. CCTV footage shows him leaping off the platform with the harness and bungee cord properly fastened. However, as he reached roughly halfway through his descent, the cord suddenly snapped, sending him plunging directly onto the roof of a nearby structure. The impact was severe, leaving him seriously injured.

People present at the site reported that safety protocols were poorly enforced, and staff members were not adhering to standard procedures typically required for high-risk adventure activities. Concerns have been raised about the condition of the equipment and the overall supervision at the facility.
